 It was the first days of the siege of Ibadan and the fellow soldiers were fighting the Ba'athist enemy with all their might. They had not brought us any food for almost three days.

They fought day and night and recited the Qur'an and the supplication of God as much as they could at night. We had very little strength and food. And we did not even know that we are completely under the siege of Iraqi troops. We were all very feeble and weary, and most of them had the last straw and were looking for an unseen miracle to save them from hunger and thirst. That night, they cried a lot and prayed to God to protect them. It was a wired night. They had resorted to the Imams with heartbreaking cries and pleas, and were calling out to the Mahdi (pbuh) with all their might and being, and were crying and wailing until they fell asleep. At the sound of Iraqi troops, we all woke up, picked up our weapons, and waited

Meanwhile, a white dove was sitting near us. All the soldiers ran to catch it that the front was completely empty. The dove flew and sat a little further away. We all went to the dove again and still hoped to catch it finally. As we moved away from the trench, the .sound of a terrible explosion sent the empty trench miles up to the air

.We all stared at the ruined trench in amazement, and the white dove was flying freely in the blue sky
